dear grace

little hobbies that fill my days

Hi,

After working at the studio, I usually allocate some time to unwind and relax. I planned to continue sharing my book binding project and it's going to be a marathon, not a sprint. My 100% won't be the same everyday and being playful is what fuel creativity. These are my 'playtime activities' I love to do.

Reading

1

the end of an affair

I used to read a book a day, once upon a time ago (lol) Now, well, I do have attention span problem but I still read as much as I can with a mixture from physical books, ebooks and longfom articles.

note: longreads has good articles to dive into.

writing

2

consistency breeds miracle

This is why I have decided to make a studio blog as the main entry beside my social media supplementary updates. I realize that I can't constantly grind all photos and videos without feeling like a machine. Writing is different. This is my main content and others are side quests that I made to show different side of me.

journaling

3

I love love love visual journal

I talked about visual journal here and it's still my favourite thing to do.

researching

6

classic meme

It is related to reading but researching do not have to be serious all the time. Sometimes it is just to feed my curiosity about lost media or the oldest video in youtube. But through casual researching, I can train myself to see the connection between past subjects, thus creating a new topic to dive into and welcome to the rabbit hole.

language learning

7

i love writing in different languages, make it english or japanese

I learned Japanese language back in 2021 for about 2 years. However, I didn't take JLPT because I wasn't sure if I want to learn it for a career path or casually. My goal is to be knowledge enough to read untranslated manga (because cheaper T.T). It sounds silly honestly but with amount of skills and languages I can learn, I have no reason to be bored.

embroidery

8

some kits I have completed

I was so engrossed with embroidery that I forgot to eat. I might start a side project for this craft one day.

With these amount of hobbies, I wonder why I still doomscroll everyday. Found good journal prompt to write later on.

Thank you for reading. Have a great day!
